Baton Rouge, LA – OPA! The third annual Greek Festival in Baton Rouge took place Saturday, May 10, 2014 in the Belle of Baton Rouge Atrium. The celebration benefited local charities.
Food, salad, lamb, pastries and Greek cuisine were served in abundance. The famed Greek Gyros, made of lamb and beef made a delicious sandwich served on “special” bread was one of the featured foods of the day.
The musical group, Alpha Omega from Atlanta performed music off and on throughout the event. From New Orleans, the Helenic Dancers danced as did a belling dancing class from Baton Rouge.
Mayor-President Melvin ‘Kip’ Holden danced with the best of them in his colorful apparel and took time to pose for pictures with locals afterward.
