Class Project: Explain Mother Teresa Quotes

Baton Rouge, LA – Around thirty 8th to 11th grade students were asked to explain, in their words, what the meanings were in some Mother Theresa Quotes selected by each student. Here are the results of those selections and writings by students here in Baton Rouge:

Mother Teresa Quotes Explained

“If you can’t feed a hundred people, then feed just one.”

This quote means that no one person can help the whole world but if you can help as many as you can.

You can’t just judge someone because of how they look or act if you do that then you will never get to know the person and you will never know that you might have been wrong about them

Do whatever your limitations allow.

11th grade

If you always spend your time judging the person next to you, you will always spend your time pointing out their faults and bringing them down instead of building them up and encouraging them.

You should always try to be kind and loving to people because you never know if that nice thing you said could have been the one nice thing they heard today. That one nice thing could change their day and encourage them to pass on the kind words.

Smiling is just one way that you can make a person’s day. Smiling IS contagious. One smile can make another person smile and always makes a person feel better to smile when they are down or having a rough day.

Saying kind words have very strong influence on people. Even just saying please, thank you, I’m sorry, or excuse me could influence a person on how they act. If you see a person working hard or cleaning up after you, it could never hurt to just say thank you. If someone is holding a door open for you or helping you with something you can just say thank you.

Feeling unwanted or unloved is a terrible feeling. No one should ever feel like that. People are special and they need to feel loved because they are. They are special and needed just as much as the next person. Every person is needed in this world so we should always treat them like that.

9th grade

This quote means that no matter what; always keep a smile on your face because you may never know who you can impact.

This quote means that you should love everyone and let everyone see you inner and outer happiness.

This quote means that you should have faith in all things because the little things build up to all of the big things.

This quote means that you can love all you want to, but it will not matter unless you put forth the effort of love into the action.

5.“Let us not be satisfied with just giving money. Money is not enough, money can be got, but they need your hearts to love them. So, spread your love everywhere you go.”

This quote means that your love goes way deeper than money. Money may be able to buy happiness, but it will not last, but love will.

8th grade

If you are always judging people, and always looking for the bad qualities in people, you’ll never see what is great about them.

A smile can make someone’s day. Just a compliment can change people’s perspective of you, or something else.

If you physically can not help one person, just help one, means that it’s the thought that counts.

Let people see God inside of you. Let everyone see that you are a Christian, and that God lives inside of you.

You don’t need to be a leader to tell someone about God. Anyone can share the message of God.

If you can’t help a lot of people just start with helping one.

Every time you smile at someone it’s a great thing.

I think this means it doesn’t matter how many people you help, just as long as you help someone.

This means you can do nice things for people, and it doesn’t matter how simple, but the thought of you doing it lasts for a lifetime.

– If you spend your whole life judging people you won’t have any time to focus on the good that the people bring.

– Just a simple smile is the start of peace.

– Be the leader don’t look up to other leaders.

– Our acts of kindness don’t have to be huge as long as they are from our hearts that’s all that really matters.

Home is where love starts. We don’t need to do a lot of actions to show our love because the amount is not important. We can do one action to show our love, but we had to put all of our love in that action.

When you feel the loneliness, you feel like you become useless, nobody needs you, and above all to other negative feelings, this is the worst one.

Don’t try to do stuffs that is beyond your abilities. Do the works that are best for you.

When you smile, it makes things go easier, it can do a lot of good thing that you might not realize.

There is no other reasons explain why we can’t have peace together, other than – you are mine and I’m your – because we belong to each other.
